The extension bar is pictured below. It'll install the same way the gate does.
I just received this gate but at that place is a gap between the latch and the office of the gate where information technology is supposed to latch onto of over an inch, in that location is no style these 2 points connect even when pushing together with all of my strength - am I missing something or is this defective?

You will notice a slight gap between the gate door latch and the frame. This is non a defect. Your gate is a pressure mounted gate and this gap will disappear once you tighten your gate in its opening.
Can this exist used in a doorway and have the door still close?

Non for cats and door will not close
The instructions were skilful and it was easy to install. The gate is sturdy. This gate is made for small people, not pets. My ten pound cats walked through the side bars hands. They could not get through the narrower bars of moving gate chemical element. I assume information technology would be the same with a pocket-size dog. And, the worst flaw, regardless of the species, is the peak of the gate is flush with the door knob, so you lot cannot open and close the door with the gate installed. My door knob is not unusually shaped or mounted in a non-standard position, so I assume this would be a universal problem. The product Q&A specifically said the door would notwithstanding work, and this is non truthful. And so, if you have a larger pet and don't need to close the door, this production might work for you. The render process is not transparent; I had to dig deep on the Chewy website to figure out what to do and and so learned I had to send an email. I sent the email iii days ago and do not have a reply. To Chewy'due south credit, however, they have a customer service phone number where you can talk to existent people who seem to be in the Usa.

Worked Well for Us
To become a good night's sleep, I needed to put 1 wooden baby gate on pinnacle of the other in the doorway, and so I was excited to find this product. Information technology installed easily, latches securely, and Tia can't jump over it. Be enlightened, the picture shows it with the one included extension; for a 32-inch door, nosotros didn't need that part. Very easy to use
I got this for my front door, so I obviously put it in and then take it out each time. Information technology was fairly elementary to assemble and placing it and removing it is a cinch! The door latch is extremely like shooting fish in a barrel to use and the door opens wide enough to get a bike through. It is alpine enough to not take to worry nearly my medium-sized poodle jumping over. He loves to sit and picket the world go by! I would highly recommend this production

If you lot want a 41 inch tall gate, practise non get this!
I purchased this gate in platinum because the description said the black and platinum would be 41 inches tall. The first gate came and it was but 36 inches tall, and said so on the box. I called Chewy they send me another one after I explained the issue and the aforementioned exact gate game once again at 36 inches tall. So if y'all want 41 inches alpine gate, do not waste your time.

Astonishing fence just huge issue
This fence would have a perfect review from me the height is great nice and high. The quality of the debate is well fabricated and non flimsy. My only issue which is a large one is that they merely requite you one extra attachment so that you lot can extend this fence to fit a larger size door area. I've purchased multiple child fences and have always had both fastened included in the fences that give you the ability to fit larger doorways. And so probably my fault if not fully paying attention and just expecting stuff to be included. When y'all become on their website they are all outta stock and don't have a known time they will be back in. Now with this said the client service was extremely helpful and responding back quickly. I just call back it is a huge over expect that if you lot need the attachments larger then the standard one to help fit slightly larger doorways they should always be included with ii and the larger attachments should be an extra kit. This is just a huge overlook and maybe a cost cutting for the company but actually just an inconvenience for your customers needs. I'd rather the toll exist set up correctly with all pieces needed for this. I still do have this fence and have had to figure out a way to make information technology piece of work for u.s. and waiting to encounter if the extra piece actually comes in. But to be aware that this is an result pay attending to all the dimensions and be aware that the attachments at this fourth dimension to extend the gate are probably out without a time frame on when or when if they will restock. Im sure this is just due to the pandemic at this time.

perfect purchase!
There are many things I love virtually these gates. First the price--- half of what I would pay in a regular pet chain store. Second, they come in several colors, not only white. Tertiary these are easy to install. Once yous become the hang of how the gate latch works, and that you tin sideslip the main latch under a sliding tab to actually lock the gate-- you will be very happy with information technology. My crafty dog can't open it!

Doesn't open and close when tight enough to stay on the wall
I am so disappointed this gate doesn't work. When the ends are screwed out enough to keep it tight on the wall, the door won't open and close just when you leave it loose plenty for the door to work it falls downward because it's not screwed tight enough to continue information technology on the wall. So now I take to loosen the ends to open the door and then tighten them again once I'm done.

Works like advertised
Our door is equally wide every bit the gate is advertised to handle. Once installed, information technology is plenty sturdy for our three rambunctious miniature schnauzers to take seriously. Latch gets stuck
I love how tall this gate is. Really helpful if you take little jumpers at dwelling house. It's pretty solid except after a month and a half the latch gets stuck. I don't know if it needs some grease, but information technology shouldn't afterward such a short time using it.

Functional
I have some other gate by Carlson that I similar ameliorate. They both are spring loaded, just this one swings only i way and I like the latch mechanism on the Carlson one amend. Nonetheless, this one works fine, keeps the cats out of my bedroom. (There was one too many incidents of cat puke on the bedding.) They *could* jump over it, but so far, have non tried.
